This policy explains what information Polly's Web uses to run your jumping spider care journal and how you can contact us about it.

Who we are

Polly's Web is a care journal for jumping spider keepers. For questions about this policy or your information, email [email protected].

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, optional display name, and a password hash if you create a password. If you use Google, Apple, or Facebook sign-in, we receive the provider account identifier and basic profile information needed to identify your account.
• Your care journal: spood profiles, care logs, observations, enclosure details, dates, photos, captions, and preferences you choose to add.
• Usage and technical information: essential sign-in and timezone cookies, request and security information such as IP address, and aggregated website analytics. We use rate limits to protect account and upload actions.
• Support information: feedback you send us and diagnostic details that help investigate it, which may include your IP address, approximate location, browser, device, language, timezone, page, and referrer.
• Subscription information: if you purchase a paid plan, we store billing identifiers and subscription status. Stripe processes payment-card details; Polly's Web does not store your complete card number.

How we use your information

We use this information to create and secure your account; save and show your spoods' care history; calculate reminders, streaks, and badges; process subscriptions; respond to support requests; prevent abuse; and understand how the site performs.

Photos and sharing

Photos are stored privately and served only after checking that a signed-in keeper owns them. Photos shared before this protection was introduced had public URLs; previously saved copies or caches may still exist outside the app. Removing a photo may not immediately remove those copies.

Service providers

We use Vercel to host the site and provide aggregated web analytics, Supabase to store app data and photos, Stripe for paid subscriptions, and Resend to deliver feedback emails when that feature is enabled. If you choose social sign-in, the selected provider also processes your sign-in. These companies receive information needed to perform those services under their own privacy terms. We do not sell keeper information or use it for targeted advertising.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies needed for sign-in, account security, and your timezone preference. The Cookie Policy lists them individually. Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregated visit information and does not use third-party tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser, but blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in.

Newsletter and contact messages

If you subscribe to our newsletter ("Join Our Spood Community"), we store the email address you submit to send occasional updates — that address and the subscription date are all we keep, and you can unsubscribe or have it removed at any time by emailing [email protected]. If you use the contact form, your name, email address, topic, and message are delivered to the matching Polly's Web inbox through our email provider so we can reply. We do not add contact-form senders or newsletter subscribers to any marketing list beyond the one they asked for.

Keeping and deleting information

You can disconnect social sign-in methods in Settings while retaining another usable method. To request removal of Facebook-provided information, see our data deletion page. These requests preserve independently entered care-journal data and are reviewed before being marked complete.

We keep account and care-journal information while your account is active. To request access, correction, or deletion, email [email protected], preferably from the address on your account. We may ask you to verify ownership before acting. Some billing, security, or support records may need to be kept longer where required or reasonably necessary.

Security and children

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can promise perfect security. Polly's Web is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can review and remove it.

Changes and questions
