Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-01
This policy explains the cookies Polly's Web sets and how they are used. We set only the cookies the site needs to function; we use no marketing or cross-site tracking cookies.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files your browser stores on your device. Websites use them to remember information between pages and visits. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking the essential ones below may prevent sign-in.
Types of cookies we use
1. Essential cookies
These are required for the site to function for you. They cannot be switched off in a useful way while you are signed in.
Session cookie — authjs.session-token (or __Secure-authjs.session-token on secure connections). Set when you sign in. It identifies your signed-in session so the site can show your care journal and keep your account secure. It is httpOnly (not readable by scripts on the page) and expires when your session ends.
2. Functional cookies
These remember a small preference to make the site work better for you.
Timezone cookie — spoodly_tz. Remembers your browser's IANA timezone so times in the app (like "last fed 2 days ago") are shown for your region. It is set by the page itself, is not readable by the server for sign-in purposes, and can be cleared at any time.
3. Staff-facing cookies
Test-session cookie — spoodly-test-session. Only used for administrator demo and test sessions. It is never set for regular keeper accounts.
What we do not use
- No ad-network cookies, and no cross-site tracking.
- No third-party analytics cookies: Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregated visit counts without third-party tracking cookies.
Your choices
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Clearing the session cookie signs you out. Blocking the session cookie prevents sign-in; blocking the timezone cookie only means times fall back to a default zone. See our Privacy Policy for the broader picture of how we handle data.
Changes
If the cookies on the site change, we will update this page with a new date above.
