Community Guidelines
Last updated: 2026-10-01
Polly's Web is powered by people who love and care for jumping spiders. These guidelines keep the community kind, helpful, and safe for everyone — keepers of every experience level, and the spoods they love.
Our community values
Be kind
Treat others with respect and positivity. New keepers ask beginner questions; experienced keepers share hard-won lessons. Every question deserves patience.
Be helpful
Share knowledge, ask clarifying questions, and support each other. Care notes and shared experiences help everyone keep happier spoods.
Be inclusive
Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience level. We learn together.
Keep it relevant
Keep discussion focused on jumping spiders and related care topics.
What we don't allow
- Harm to animals: content promoting neglect, improper care, or intentional harm to spiders or any animal.
- Unkind conduct: harassment, insults, shaming, or personal attacks — including toward beginners.
- Inappropriate content: sexual, violent, or otherwise objectionable material.
- Misleading claims: presenting guesses as veterinary fact, or remedies that could endanger animals.
- Spam and selling: unsolicited promotion, commercial advertising, or solicitation outside any features we may specifically provide for it.
Reporting issues
If you see something that violates these guidelines, please let us know at [email protected] with details and, where possible, a link. We review reports and may remove content, warn accounts, or suspend access for violations. Serious violations of our Acceptable Use Policy may result in permanent suspension.
The short version
Kind people, healthy spoods, honest information. If a post wouldn't make a new keeper feel welcome and a spood safer, it doesn't belong here.
